We are very happy with this enclosure. Assembly was easy- everything fit together perfectly. The final product is solid but not too heavy. We also got a light kit from talking serpents that we are using for a ceramic heater, we wired the enclosure with led strip lights, and a power sun basking light–all using the predrilled holes. Our beardie has plenty of room with a basking side and a cool side. I must also say customer support was great–both pre and post sale. This enclosure is fantastic.

I bought two of these, not only is the price excellent, but the material is quality pet-safe wood. One of the few affordable options for a (big enough) reptile enclosure. Flat packed, easy to put together, well sanded. Looks great painted. I agree with the other review, it’s the perfect weight, it’s a solid wood but it’s not too heavy (I can move them myself). The only change I made was I drilled larger holes for the light/uvb cords (I use pre-wired corded lights).
Excellent customer service before purchase too.

If anyone wants tips on pet-safe paint– for my reptile enclosures I always use Behr zero-voc (at home depot), and for sealer I recommend spar urethane (water-based, I use Varathane brand).

Bought one of these to house a western rat snake and the quality and precision is very impressive for the price. Very sturdy and lightweight, nice, thick glass, and plenty of ventilation. Also worth noting is how well packaged and protected it was! I will be buying another of this size for a baby tegu, then repurpose it for my ball python and already have plans for buying some other size options for various reptiles. Very highly recommended.

Easy to assemble! The closest I’ve ever done to DIY has been IKEA furniture, and this was honestly even easier.

I used a power drill to screw everything in and had no issues lining everything up. I did make a minor error in the orientation of the back panel (my back panel is upside down, so I’ll need to drill new holes), so make sure you read each step on the instructions before carrying them out. Sealing and staining only took me about 3 hours total.

I haven’t put the glass on yet, as I’m still working on the background of the enclosure, but the glass arrived in perfect condition – no cracks, scratches, or shattered panes. Everything in this kit is packaged really well. It’s not part of the instructions, but I attached the pieces of plywood used to protect the corners in shipping to the bottom with silicone, so that I can run cords underneath the enclosure without issue.

I’m definitely going to be buying from Talking Serpents for future enclosures, although in the future I think I’ll go with the customize yourself kits for a better finished aesthetic. Kyle is a MUCH better painter than me.
